DISCUSSION
A.WomenRole in Famiy
The family In Britain is changing. By the years 2020
there will be fewer married people than single people. In the past, people got
married and stayed married . Divorce was very difficult and took a long time.
But today people’s view marriage are changing. Many couples, Mostly in their
twenties and thirties, live together without getting married. About 60% of these
couples do get married in the end.Women in Britain don’t want to have children
immediately and prefer to do well at their job first. So they often decided not
to have a baby until they are in their late thirties,or even forties. The
number of single parents families is increasing . This is mainly due to more
marriages ending in divorce, but some women are also choosing to have children
as lone parents without being married.
In the past British women stayed to at home, did the
home and had babies. But now British women want good jobs like their husbands,
and they also want their husbands to help with the with the children and housework. They
Sometimes spend their time with their family when they have free time ,take
care of their children also but not every time so that’s why the children not always spend time with their parents all the
times because of their parents are busy to work.[1]
Madurace woman
contribute her whole potencies to her husband, children and the others family
members. Madurace women have
children immediately when the had married. Most of madurace women got married at
young age or at their late twenties. Madurace women In
the family are good at spending times
with their family, responsible for their duties as wife and good other for their
children. The role woman in maduries is
limited to domestic duties which is about kitchen, bedroom and children.Women
are considerd as an important part domesticc factors. These roles are considerd
as ideal for madurace women. This paradigm isdeep rooted in certain community. However,at
the present time has been resisted by woman emancipation. Now madurace women
are not consider as being weak. Their role are not limited on domestic work
such as like clean up the the room, take care of their children and cook in the
kitchen. Now they able to do jobs while take care of their children.[2]
In the past madurace men consider women as being
weak and unable to do the job other than clean up the room at home that’s
called as patriarchal culture. This assumption led To his weak against women
bound by the culture. That woman creature who always need protection of men was
worried by other activities outside home. This can be seen in the condition of
woman who always accompanied her husband in the field, even woman often become
the reason for” the bone white white for the eyes” known as carok. The presumption that she is weak
figure, causing the narrowness of the space for women in Madura. Looking at the reality that exists today, the
changing times assisted or disagree the presumption that madurace woman is
weak.[3]
A.
Women
Role in Particular Jobs
Britain
still produces many things in its factories. But today british people have more
money to spend they want to enjoy themselves so the fastest growing bussineses
in the Britain are serfice industries hotels, restaurant, travels, shopping, and
computer, banking, financial services. More than 75% of british jobs are
inservice industries; they employ over 21 millions people. The usuall working
day in Britain start a 9am and finishes at 5pm. Most people work a 5 day a
week. But now many companish want to give their customor a ‘round the clock’
service 24 a day 365 a days a year.
The
british working a week is, on average, the longes any country in europ. In 1998
a new law was made. Workers don’t have to work more than average over of 48 a
hours a week if they don’t want to. But about 22% of british workers do work
more than a 48 a hours a week. Man work longer a hours tha women. British
employers must give their worker for a week paid holiday every year.
About
25% of British workers (about 7.4 million people) have part time part time
jobs. Most of these are Women. Many women don’t want a full time job because
they want to spend with their family. Men work longer than women .About 13% of
British are self employed. They don’t work for company, but for themselves.Women
earn less per hours, on average, than men. More women are working than before.[4]
There
are more than three times as many women working part time job than men, and
part time jobs tent to be lower paid.Women are more likely than men to work in
low paid sectors like care and leisure ,as well as inadmistrative and
sectetarial jobs. Consequently ,the employers would prefer to hire someone who
is going to dedicated their jobs, rather than someone who will have to take
maternity leave months on end.Not all british women want want children ,but the is expectation that
most will. Eventhough at the late forties years old. It is hardly fair to
discriminate against women for fulfilling the essential role, anyway. If women
stopped having children, generations would decrease,so they still want to have
children even at the last forties besides focus on their jobs.[5]
Madurace women, from a layer of socio-economic rich or poor, educated high
or low, who live on the Maduries island are hard workers. They work for their
family. The main occupation in maduries is farmer espeacially in village is
farmer.housework is the responsibility of madurace women
while they do their jobs as farmers ,teachers or selllers in the traditional
market. Madurace women from households with low socioeconomic status work to
live, work as obligations, it is proper for a living person to eat because of
that, they have to work to earn money.Work is pride and gives an example to
children. Especially for madurace women by -leaving
the area as long as it means having to work to survive. for women with high
economic status, work to help the family’s economy and dedicate themselves to
the community. with women's higher education it can actualize itself to build
and develop the community. the work ethic of Madurace women are driven by the
belief that work is religious, charity and forming self-reliance, courageous in
facing obstacles like a wave-shaped "abhantalombhak"
and covered in the wind "asalemotaangen".[6]
